A needs assessment is a process utilized to identify the needs of a population. In my Community Health class, HPRB 3700, I worked with a team to assess the needs of a schizophrenic woman with low income who was in an abusive relationship. Although I learned many things through this project, some skills I gained include working with others, finding resources, problem-solving, cultural competence, and prioritization. Throughout this project, I became even more empathetic toward underserved populations and the resources available to them.
